Jeff Zen, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com

So it was actually Chrome that was causing my high power consumption,
not Ubuntu. When I use Firefox instead of Chrome, I pull ~12 watts and
operate at ~45 C.

** Description changed:
What happens:
Under Ubuntu 12.04, the system's power consumption is around 32 Watts idle,
which is unbelievably high compared to the 12 Watts consumed by Ubuntu 10.04. I
believe this could be a kernel problem.
What should happen:
The system's total consumption
I'm also experiencing high power consumption on 12.04.
What happens:
Power consumption averages at 27 watts idle, which is much higher than the < 5
watts I experience on Windows 7. My computer also runs much warmer on 12.04,
around 60 C, which is much higher than the running temperature of 40-45
Running apport-collect with the parameters above makes it frezze at the
second "KeyError: 'Problem Type'" message. Is it something that I do in
a wrong way?
