That's what I switched to and works for the most part.
I found that I had problems editing or viewing the resulting Ogg file
on some platforms so I use this ffmpeg based script to transcode the
file:
#!/bin/bash
INPUT_FILE=$1
OUTPUT_FILE=$2
ffmpeg -i ${INPUT_FILE} -s 960x720 -vcodec mpeg4
