I like to add that this message still appears in the 2.6.17-10-generic
(amd64 or x86_64) kernel in Edgy Beta. Yet, earlier in the boot messages
it appears that ACPI: DSDT ... is indeed found and used. The file
/proc/acpi/dsdt is indeed present, and not empty.

There isn't much to say about this bug. Synaptic in edgy eft is just way
too slow compared with synaptic in previous ubuntu versions, especially
when it rebuilds package lists, applying changes or marking packages.

Ok, I confirm the keyboard's bug.
When no "vga=791" (or any other) is passed to the kernel at boot, all is good
and I can type normally (though I have an incorrect frame buffer resolution).

I got X up and running, it seemed that the xorg.conf reverted back to
the "ati" driver instead of the "fglrx" driver.

Issue is gone. Don't recall exactly what I did to make it go away, but
I believe it involved mv'ing the old home directory aside and then
selectively pulling things back into a fresh one.

I have the same problem. The icons on the toolbars would disappear when
hovering the mouse over one of them (only the one under the mouse would
be visible). The same thing happend for the menus.
I removed all openoffice.org packages (except language packages) and
reinstalled the writer package. I
