there is no need to be worried, we still have several weeks to fix bugs and
regression like that crasher are usually fixed quickly. Your bug is not really
optimal for several reason:
- the subject doesn't describe the bug clearly
- the description mentions there is a bug without any clear descrip
well, after removing package powernowd, it seems that the LID state is
blocked on closed now. I'll continue trying to figure out what makes
that damn state not ok (it works great under MS Windows, so it is

I have solved the problem for me: I upgraded to edgy without upgrading to
upstart , because I had removed the packages ubuntu-minimal and ubuntu-base.
So, I reinstalled those, and at the next boot KDM showed up as expected.

I don't know, if it is similar or a different bug. But edgy(tried with every
knot and beta) doesn't find my graphic card. tried Live-CD and upgrade from
Dapper. But x-server isn't able to start.
If I boot with Live-CD there is first:

Problem was the vendor ID was not included

According to serialmonkey, the ID was patched into the cvs M
The crash does not happen for me w/o the Flash plugin either. Also, the
crash does not happen even with the plugin installed if the color depth
is 24bit. It does happen if the color depth is 16bit or lower.

I'm talking about mapping to Meta using the gnome keyboard dialog, I don't
use anything else, it's one of those things that I've done since my first
day using Ubuntu.
As for this:

When waking up from suspend, the mouse cursor disapears. It is still
there (I can navigate by watching what pre-lights on mouseover), but it
is not visible.
Restarting the x server brings back the cursor.
This problem started after upgrading to edgy
