I don't think it is. Apparently, the fix for that bug has been released,
but I'm still having problems with my MA311. I think this bug is unique,
and is very important.
The fix is simple - a rmmod/modprobe cycle of the relevant drivers fixes
this. A permanent solution shouldn't be difficult.

to gaim, pasting to an application that supports formatted text crashes
openoffice.org writer, pasting from OOo2 to gedit or xterm or any other
non-formatted program will work, pasting to gaim or abiword will crash

I personally have never seen a crash with bt-applet. The D-Bus proxy
object has the weird behavior that I described, but that's it. I have to
make some small adjustments for the icon display policy and then I will
release a new version. Postponing this to edgy-updates should be fine.

Thanks for picking it up, I actually didn't tag it as a pango issue
originally (since I had no idea what caused it). I guess someone saw it
and thought it might be :)
Anyway, the latest (yesterday) updates fixed the issue for me at least.
I think it was the updates to xorg, but can't be sure since
my dmesg. it may help to fix both this issue (that looks really acpi
related). booted with acpi=force (without that, it will just panic)

Update: it happens only with wifi kill swtich on. If kill switch is off,
only way to boot is to disable acpi.

attaching my dmesg; booted with mouse plugged in; last line shows that
mouse have been plugged out. mouse was then plugged in back, but it
never returned to work.
booted with acpi=force due to kernel panic issues.
usb ports may be splitted by a hub, but if it is true, it is internal to
the lapto
that one has "GraphicalTheme=Human" too. Do you have edgy-gdm-themes
installed? The artwork has been splitted and if you don't have ubuntu-
desktop installed and didn't use the dist-upgrader tool it's likely you
didn't get that new package installed

GDM sets to gnome defaults rather than Edgys
Edgy is frozen, so it is practically impossible to do changes like this.

Is acpid running after clean reboot?
"ps -ef | grep acpid" will tell you that.
Logout dialog works with HAL interface for suspend, and since powersave
is not integrated with HAL (to provide suspend/resume functions) it does
not work.

probably addressed by other updates.
Regarding speedstep not being enabled, please clarify what does "not
enabled" mean? Is module not loaded? Does CPU frequency scalling work?

I could imagine that it crashed on shutting the machine down and apport
popped up with the crash report the next time you logged in. Maybe it

Back once again. I just checked if the patch applies against the exact
dapper version and found out that I was accidentally working with the
edgy source as the patch did not make any sense there. Of course, the
gdm that was installed was (accidentally) from early edgy as well
(despite /etc/apt/pref
