don't think this is a screensaver problem as much as a power-management
problem. When I look at the Power History it shows that closing the lid
initiates DPMS Off but when pressing the multimedia buttons the computer
changes to DPMS On, turning on screen.

I have a very similar problem. My external HD (LUKS encrypted) doesn't
get mounted since yesterday's software update. Everything worked well
for me up to that update. Now I don't even get asked for a password,
when I plug in the HD. I also don't get any error message. When I use

there is the same problem with libdeskbar-tracker. a live search
works, but if someone clicks on a result who has national characters
(french accent for example) it crashes the tracker plugin.

I had a similar problem today. I use POP3 and the Inbox contained only 5
new mails.
Thunderbird (ubuntu3) didn't freeze, but after downloading 5 new mails,

Typos and translations problems in the French version
Had the same experience as above, following the boot process from the
text-console. Disabled both network adapters in BIOS solved the problem,
and Kubuntu started with no delay - and off course no network
connections either. Enabled the wired adapter first, and the boot delay
