I've experienced the same issue with one of our recently upgraded

The fix I applied was to apt-get remove python-psycopg2 and compile

Upstream says that omniORBpy 2.6 (i.e. python-omniorb2 2.6) won't work
with python2.5. So the quick fix is to change XS-Python-Version to
2.4. The long term fix is to change the versions to omniORBpy 3.0
(and hence omniORB 4.1 for the omniorb4 package).

Binary package hint: adept-updater
After fetching and installing packages the GUI just hangs and I have to
kill it. What's worse, it leave the apt database to locked state and I
have to remove 'lock' file to be able to use any package manager tool.
