As I said already I installed Hardy with Virtualbox on my Gutsy System some
time ago. With the Hardy alpha kernel inside the Virtualbox System I was able
to use my RT2570 (USB) interface without any problems (I was able to connect
and to download with full 6k DSL speed, didn't tested more).
Makes sense now. I just re-added the Notification Area to my panel and
I'm starting to get spikes from E-D-S again. Nothing to the level
previously experienced, but it has topped at 100% for a few seconds here
and there. The magnifying glass has only recently reported that it has
finished

Yes, the problem still remains with the latest kernel in 8.04
(2.6.24-16-generic). The fan does not work after resuming from
hibernate. For now, I just have to remember to toggle the AC power every
time I resume. I'm open to any suggestions to help identify the source

I have the same problem with Guild Wars and Sim City 4.
With GW I just get a black screen, no sound. And with SC4 I can hear
the background music plus the menu sounds when I move the mouse over
them, I just cant see anything.

I found a workaround: the 8.04 boot menu offers an older kernel

Yesterday, after booting Ubuntu Feisty, I discovered I had a totally
different desktop!
It had different icons, as well as functions. Had a drop down menu for
apps beside the normal one. I just went along for the ride. Thought it
might have been an update to some newer version.

I can use my PSP on hardy without any issue because now it's not
automouted.
I first tried to deactivate this option by editing the concerned config
file but I did not find it.

Confirming that this issue is still present in 8.04 / 64 bit.
Totem actually triggers the Alt key in Konqueror as well, and presumably
other apps.

I have the same problem with Gmail, and that worldofwarcraft.com link
posted earlier. The images themselves are loaded instantly, but whatever
script is used to reveal the picture is extremely slow. I'm using Hardy
Heron release and Firefox3b5, with Nvidia 8400 and HP laptop.
