Found something VERY strange just as i opened my MBA :
screen touches were working!
but stranger:
as i rebooteed, they were not working, so how is it possible? i've found some
part of solution:
when the computer boots, it does not work and screen light is set to mex, even
if it runs on battery.
I can see this now on a Sony Vaio with a Go 6200. I guess it only
affects older cards.

I am also having the same problem... running on Xubuntu 8.04, with all
updates installed and also when using Fluxbox. I do not use proprietary
drivers and neither do I use Compiz. I am running VMWare Workstation
version 6.0.3 build-80004 and kernel 2.6.24-17-generic. All

Had same problem, using Ubuntu 8.04, tried Foxmarks but could not install.
Downgraded to firefox-2, but could not install as well. Starting firefox from
console with the gksudo command, I could install Foxmarks.
However it seems that I have to always use FF-2 from gksudo if I want to
use the fox
