Open Rythmbox Music Player directly (do NOT play anything with it).
Minimize it if you want.
Open a file (mp3 or avi or whatever) that you want to play with VLC.
In my case, then VLC works again. What about you?

Well, if it is Amarok 2.0.2 you are talking about, then this is not a bug.
Playing CD/DVD is simply not implemented yet in this version. You will have to
be patient for a future version, probably 2.2
Understand that Amarok 2.x is a complete rewrite and not all features have been

Xi 2428. Since my earlier post I did an upgrade from Ubuntu 8.10 to 9.04, so

imagine this works since 8xxx and up IGPs arent supported at all and
IGPs in general require more than just editing the pci ids from what I

remove all my config files like previously posted, but I don't want to
reconfigure everything. I've tried search all of the folders Cédric Jeanneret

see the timezone is suddenly changed to UTC from BDT at 20th Jun 2009 (00:00)

When i upgraded from itrepid to jaunty, my cdrom is not being mounted
nor can i find the devide name.
- My fstab lists it as /dev/scd0 but it doesnt see

After jaunty upgrade NonSteam CS dropped to 4 FPS and Steam CS didn't
even care to start. (with EXA. XAA didn't start X, and UXA was crashing
