If you want to renew the version on your own risk (some of these packages are
experimental) then this is what I did and it worked.
This guide assumes that you have "build-essential" and "checkinstall" installed.
1. sudo apt-get build-dep subtitleeditor
2. completely remove these packages: libgstr

I think there is a bit of misunderstanding here.
"default-java" is not an alternative that can be served by any JDK/JVM
(like the "java" command). It points to the default implementation of

I found out the problem.
Two weeks ago I changed router.
The old one uses 10.0.0.x LN IPs, the new one 192.168.1.x IPs.
I have two printer, one of them is configured through IPP.
Freezes happened when it tried to contact that printer (but PC had a new
IP number).
I fixed it removing old printer
Still present in Lucid.

Ubuntu Karmic as well as several versions before karmic.
this is probably one of the most irritating bugs on gnome
I dont know if this is going to be fixed before gnome3 comes out.
I havent tested this on Lucid
