Hi I seem to be having the same issue:
- I installed a fresh new install
- ran software update until everything was up to date.
- Software Center runs but has the same symptoms as the original bug submitter.
There are no applications listed as installed or any listed under any of the

rhythmbox crashes when started with connected ipod
Thank you for your interest in my problem.
When i filed the bug I overlooked one important descriptor:
The dropping only occurs (occasionally) with NTFS share, never with
native linux file systems (in my case xfs and ext4) which shares are
working perfectly.

This error is probably due to a 0 byte file left after a sudden shutdown
/ crash of your system. Since this was a while ago, did you fix it ?

There doesn't need to be one. Can you invoke the daemon manually?
Firstly, try 'start-pulseaudio-x11' by hand and see if that resolves the
symptom.
Secondly, if the first step isn't sufficient, please use 'pulseaudio
-'.
