/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and reboot.
Thanks for reporting (and good eye). This one is already fixed in Ubuntu
Raring/13.04 (and Debian experimental), so I feel it's safe to mark it
Fixed Released. While it's theoretically possible to fix this in
released Ubuntu versions with an SRU, I highly doubt one will be granted
for a trivial doc
The fix for this has been committed to the git repository:

I am having similar problems. In order to get DNS to work I need to restart
dnsmasq after boot (manually or via script) in order to get it to resolve
hostnames. DHCP works fine though.

I have a very similar problem, however, sound is not going through HDMI
but through internal analog audio to external speakers. When LG LED TV

I believe this is fixed. I split telepathy-farstream into a
compatibility package that Kubuntu can keep using for now and updated
the main one, then uploaded empathy to enable GStreamer 1.0.
Let me know if you still have problems.
