This was the start of my bug report. When I installed i8kutils, aptitude
installed tk8.4 as a dependancy. Then when I ran i8kmon I had the error
I posted in comment. tk8.5 was not installed.
I think the dependancy with tk8.4 must be changed to tk8.5, am I right ?

No, for some reason it's crashing and not attaching the data. Until we
can get that working can you boot into the kernel with broken wifi and
run these commands in a terminal:
lspci -vvnn > lspci.txt
dmesg > dmesg.txt
This will produce two files, lspci.txt and dmesg.txt. Please attach

I've never had 100% CPU usage, only some kind memory leak that unity-
panel-service slowly uses more and more memory. After the new packages
the situation is better, but still, memory usage of unity-panel-service
is increasing over the time needs to be killed at some point to allow to
be re-loaded

Sorry, I don't have any ideas. I don't think we've seen anything like
this either; we'd probably need a machine that uses the same touchpad or
touchpad driver.
