So people say they can still navigate blindly on grub menu when this
errormessage is displayed since it only blocks the menu beeing
displayed, not grub as such.
So i wonder if there is a better way of displaying this error as a
workaround.

Thanks a lot for coming back to me. I couldn't run apport-collect as we
don't have python-launchpadlib installed. I did check (apt install
python3-launchpadlib) and in my case it would install quite a lot of
