The big blue cursor handle should not be visible if the text field is
empty, as dragging does nothing. It should only be displayed if the
field has text (or spaces) in it where dragging would make sense.

Public bug reported:
currently you can save a contact without either a first or last name. It
should be required to have at least one otherwise the contact disappears
from the list and you can never edit them again.
you should also not allow an edit operation that removes both names.

It is the desired behavior to show all phone numbers for a contact.

filed this related bug to prevent creating/editing a contact without any name
as this shouldn't be allowed:
