That was a packaging error on my part really though. When I ran
autoconf, it generated the new file which I didn't include in the patch,

Thanks, but this is because your FUSA preferences are probably set to
not lock the screen, which is not a bug, but a configuration issue.
Please right click on the applet, select Preferences and make sure that
"Lock the screen after switching users" is checked (this is the default
setting anyway).
Ah, ok. I just read the other bug report you linked. Anyhow, if you've
removed the screensaver, then this is still not a bug. It is the
screensaver which takes control of the display to lock the screen, so if
you've removed the screensaver you can't expect this to work.

The autostart condition wasn't really successful because gnome-session
still restarts it even when the condition isn't met. The real bug is
that EggSMClient can't set the restartstyle hint after connecting to the
session manager, which is how Nautilus used to work with GnomeClient in
Int
The workaround is already discussed in this bug report.
And the AutostartCondition doesn't work, because gnome-session will
still restart Nautilus even when the condition isn't true. It just stops
it from being started initially.
