When I received this error, I was using Karmic. However, since then I have
reverted back to Jaunty and I have not received the error again.

Properties.. Now that would be fine if you could guarantee that there

I respectfully disagree the system works without issues after the oops.
I can easily reproduce the monitor not going to sleep. If I do not get the
oops, it works as I expect. If I get the oops, The monitor does not sleep.

or 2550 pixels. My (dual-head) display is 2560 pixels wide. Sure, new
panels -default- to being the full width, but this does not help me
here. :P

It seems to me that a major part of the discussion here is whether it
would be legal to distribute cdrtools if some of the people who
contributed to cdrecord (and other parts?) under the GPL objected to the
fact that it is now CDDL. Are those contributors known? If so, can't
