fixed a problem with the kernel calling RDST (acronym is most likely

that is not a solution, what if the normal joe user doesn't like having
their status there? are you really expecting them to know and toggle a
gconf key to turn it off? the easiest solution is just to have a
checkbox there. On , you get the status, off, you don't. simple.

i am not almost positive that at least the issue i am experiencing is

problems, when i first reported this, i had no idea what was causing it,
but now it appears that the common symptom is the 'tsc unstable' message

In the latest version of VLC, 0.9.4, it appears to be fixed. However, the MKV
file needs to have an index for seeking to actually work, and it seems the
problem is when a file doesn't have an index, vlc crashed and burnt on it

i have the exact same symptoms. intrepid wont boot unless i have a key
held down, and then when it starts up, it drops me down to low graphics

cant just release a whole new (VERY new by ubuntu's standards) kernel

hmm. I tried following that guid to fix my dsdt, and iasl provided me

Today, i ran update manager to update my system. Debconf came up because
apparantly one of the linux updates wanted to see what i wanted to do in
regards to menu.lst, it gave me some options, i clicked 'show 3 way
difference' and then i wanted to
the sort periods i have been using jaunty i have not had this problem,
most likely because there is a new volume applet?
but anyway...it appears to be fixed,.

i personally think having the title bar makes the window look better.
and having the timer is good, because since we no longer have giant
icons to click like in hardy, but rather a quite small menu where it is
easy to misclick, having the timer has already saved me from shutting
down when i wanted

sorry, i haven't tried jaunty much because of a bug that...makes it
crash very frequently. I am at school right now but once i get home I
will try to see if it still crashes when I hibernate

I just tried suspending and hibernating three times, and each time i
had gnome system log open, and it did not crash or anything like that,
so i guess this issue is now invalid
