Did further investigations, with ppa the sound is mostly clear but sometimes
the stutter occurs with ratelimit again. So i searched for the vendor id
0x10ec0888 and found that the chip seems to be the alc1200. Trying some module
options in alsa-base.conf did not help to fix this completely.

Just installed lucid unr to a collegues 701-4G, it shows up the same. Most
buttons from dialogues are below the 480px, every window must be moved up with
the alt key. The bar left looks to fat, on the right only 2 really big icons
are visible. Scrolling instead of using.

Fiddling around with echo messages i found a logic in that, please

Confirmed on T42, the tpb package wont start with user permissions.
Try out "tpb -d" as user, nothing happens and the keys wont work without any
osd reaction.
Then try "sudo tpb -d", now the keys are working and the osd shows all usage
well.

Found the possible problem behind that. The gnome-settings-daemon was
not started by default in unr desktop mode, so some functions and osd
respondings did not work. I placed a call to gnome-settings-daemon in my
session and everything is okay now.

Found a workaround. Placing a .is_audio_player file in the root of samsungs sd
card, ubuntu recognise the handy in mass-storage mode as usb player device,
banshee accepts this too.

Same here on amd64. Have a writer and reader as master - slave on one

The filesystem was a ext2 utf-8 on a nas that is shared with cifs to the
banshee machine. Lots of files get C64 graphic chars, questionmarks and
(ungültige Kodierung) extensions to their names. Cifs was mounted with
defaults on ubuntu, maybe there is some kind of conversion? This is the
smb.conf fr
Tested with local utf-8 was okay, found a solution to get nfs to my nas
device. Now the encoding is well, so this seems to bee a bug in cifs
shares and encoding.

Conclusion for now: If the bios of the laptop has a serial port enabled,
the described error does not occur, the card got it's own devicenode
from udev. I dont know if we have a depend from pcmcia serial port to a
real ttyS from the bios, if yes this bug can be closed.

Sometimes files are sorted and duped to artist/album and various
artists/album thats so crazy. Can banshee get bogus import from the
taglib?

Found a reason, if a filename contains "," or "&" char banshee will re-
add this song every time the files are rescanned. The characters are
coming through filenames that will be created by banshee itself from the
id tags. Found this behaviour by a playlist that search for these chars.

Try user & groups or computer-janitor or softwarecenter, this produce
the described problem here. All ubuntu progs with post legitimation
seems to be affected. The dialogue box stays until it was closed by
hand, no action occurs in the programs until the box was clicked away

Can this bug caused by the gstreamer-plugins? As you see above one song is not
duplicated and have another filedate. All players use gstreamer-plugins to read
the songs and all players duplicate the songs but one.
So does easytag, when reading the affected folder the not duplicated song is
black

In earlier releases of ubuntu the u530 card was detected in serial and
got /dev/ttyUSB0 and /dev/ttyUSB1 from udev to work properly with modem-

removed, then reread everything 3 times.
I only found dupes from various files that totally normal to me. I checked the
files and folders but the dupes did not exist on the disk, others players like

Caused by the open bug 654385 i cannot test this bug on another machine.
But this problem still exist.
