Same problem here.
In fact, I no longer run Trusty on bare metal ; instead, I run up-to-
date 64bit Trusty userland in a chroot on up-to-date 64bit Yakkety.
The game is playable, except for this exact same power jump
sequence/combo.

To have a useful trace, I had to build (and install) gambas3 and glibc
locally with debug symbols.
Binaries still are 'optimized' a bit, however.
Here follows how I got the crash (SIGSEGV) :
