Lucid kernel is missing a large number
I don't think this is actually an intrusion attempt. Frankly, I see this
on systems in completely segregated networks. I see this when a system
has no network connectivity. I wish I knew better what was going on.

sorry if my test results were not clear.
Your test kernel did not fix the issue. The issue still exists when a
user first boots.
The issue does have a workaround with the new kernel - the workaround is
to disconnect the wireless via network manager and then reconnect.

behaving just a bit differently now.
The screen does lock, however, the screensaver doesn't show up at all.
Once I finally move the mouse or touch the keyboard, the screensaver
will flash for an instant, and then the login screen

reported being confused by the difference between eject unmount and
safely remove on removable media, k3b should ask you if you want to
unmount the disk if it wants to use it
