Ok, I'm gonna try the work-around suggested in the forum. bug 554172
does not look like it's the same I'm seeing though because restart
doesn't fix the problem only a total shutdown and then start again
sometimes fixes the problem temporarily.

I'm seeing this problem with Lucid 64-bit on a brand new Packard Bell
Dot-S2 netbook (Intel Atom N450 with 6-cell Li-Ion battery). It doesn't
happen on my other laptop, a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pa 3553 also
I have an ASUS motherboard and there is the SATA configuration in the
BIOS. I have changed the SATA controller mode to RAID mode (there is IDE
and SATA mode). I have done this, and it worked, even with one drive.

Tested with kernel 2.6.34-020634 (from the mainline ubuntu kernel page)
and it has same problems:
No wireless device
No Multimedia keys
The kernel that works is 2.6.31-22. Both 2.6.32 and 2.6.33 are not
working either.
Seems to me it is some hal/udev problem, but I don't know.

On my PC there are 2 usb connections.
The second one works without problems but the first one doesn't like my
usb-stick.
It throws a device not accepting address 13, error -71, see attached logs.
My external harddrive works on this port though.
