I would like to confirm that refuse-eap in the %gconf.xml worked for me
as well. I had to restart the PC for it to take effect though as there
appears to be some sort of caching of that file that caused my changes

I am running Intrepid 8.10 (installed as alpha 4 but has all updates
applied as of today). I have manual proxy set in the system preferences
network proxy settings. This works for Firefox and the synaptic package
manager and system update but the weather applet seems to be a ignoring
the manual

This is a limitation of a file upload form element. Javascript could be
used to strip the filename off of the path, but the user would have to
still select a file from the directory desired. This will be a problem

Just a question for the professionals here. I can't switch to the
virtual console (ALT+CTRL+F1), it starts fading to white and then
nothing happens. It does the same fading before X is starting and it
takes a lot of time. Is there a possibilty to eliminate this
fading/blending?

Well not reproducible as I do not get the same error, but i also can not

Sorry, that was a red herring. I figured out how to disable the gnome-
settings-daemon plugins by moving the *plugin files from /usr/lib/gnome-
settings-daemon-2.0, but removing those plugins had no effect on the
login procedure. Still just greeted with a blank screen, *or* sometimes
a lone
Some info, which I think points to the problem. I used XDMCP to start a
Failsafe Terminal session. (Both libgconf and gnome-keyring-daemon
still start up even with failsafe terminal, which I didn't realize used
any gnome services. Strange).
From the xterm window in the lower right, I type
I've also tried renaming the gnome-keyring-daemon, and now on a login
attempt I get the orange background and absolutely no processes in the
terminal from this user according to 'ps'. So it's pretty safe to
assume that gnome-keyring-daemon is not the culprit. Still no clue what
the culprit is,

5) I can then use SSH to log into a terminal session. Using 'ps ux' I see the

certain. What I do know is that the gnome login process hangs at gnome-
keyring-daemon.

I'm not finding either of those files.

Ok, this bug is only reproducible on amd64. i386 doesn't seem to be
affected.
Also, it can be triggered by switching between firefox profiles.
Steps to reproduce the bug:
1. Launch firefox http://launchpad.net, everything's OK
2. Launch firefox -ProfileManager, select the other profile,

Ok, perhaps the wireless part is better described, but the bug still
remains for being unable to suspend on the W3N.

Hmmm, just tried the latest kernel from feisty (2.6.20-10), and the
suspend bug seems to be fixed.
So yes, this bug can merge with 90883.

Cool, the bug is fixed for me with network-manager-0.6.4-6ubuntu3.
Putting the interface in static IP mode will not cause NM to disconnect.

Scenario: Have a desktop running edgy, acting as the synergy server, and
laptop running feisty, connecting to the desktop.
When both was running edgy, synergy runs fine. After I've upgraded my
laptop to feisty, synergy times out sporadically,
The menu item doesn't fix the problem. As I said before, the moment you
switch to a static IP configuration using network-admin (I even went to
the menu item added), and NM automatically shows that the connection is
disconnected, and liferea/gaim/epiphany goes into offline mode.
Basically, if
NM should not disconnect if a static IP is set. That's the bug.
