I'm not so sure this is an Empathy bug. Since when the Indicator Applet
crashes, there's no way to get empathy back without re-loading the
application. What the indicator applet needs is support to bring back
original tray icons if it crashes and hide them away when it's brought
back.. Currently
it would be good if one person having the problem could type apport-
collect 255307: in their terminal. This will give us up to date
computer information, also if you could provide a backtrace using

RUSirius: that means that there are either earlier or later version
still installed on your machine. In this case I'm going to assume the
latter. Once you remove the later versions it should install ok.

well, I guess all I can say is that thankfully it's all on your home
directory in hidden files. Just remove .empathy after complete

and see if Empathy has send and receive messages underneath it. Also
please type 'apport-collect 476155' in your terminal, you may have to
install a package for this to work, but the terminal should let you know

different status using the indicator-session causes empathy to start in
