The release of gwibber gwibber-service today has resolved the issue -
thanks.
I've commented here because nobody has reported this being resolved in
the duplicate bug #554005, so I'm not sure if it was a
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gwibber
Freshly installed Lucid from the nightly builds, fully updated.
When I add my Facebook account as a broadcast account, the 'top' command
reports that gwibber-service runs at between 98 and 100%.
