Public bug reported:
Hi,
The Ubuntu archive is still sticked on 1.4.14-0u9 while Debian has
1.4.24-1, i think it could be great if Ubuntu use the last version
available in Debian.

Hello,
The default configuration should be /var/run/rsnapshot.pid (see
http://sources.debian.net/src/rsnapshot/1.3.1-4/rsnapshot.conf.default.in/#L131),
is it a custom configuration on your setup ?
Anyway, as rsnapshot is not really a daemon (launched by cron), if the pid
don't exist and if
() in
panel_service_show_entry_common(), but this does not translate into a
call to entry_activate() (which might be a problem if totem expects
about_to_show()).
The patch correctly reverts to the previous behaviour on my side, so
I'll leave it there.
Best,
Guillaume

That said, I started to look into it last night.
Ivan, how far have your efforts gone so far?
Otherwise I think I can have a patch by the end of the week.
Thomas, thanks so much for looking into this, and thanks Ivan for your efforts

Maybe because indicator-appmenu fails to update the menus in the new
unity mode? see

Just tried on a fresh install of ubuntu 15.04 by replacing 'xserver-
xorg-input-synaptics-lts-utopic' by 'xserver-xorg-input-synaptics'.
Everything went fine but at the end, after a reboot, nothing changes,
the behaviour is still the same as before.

I should add that in some cases, it can be problematic. There is another
bug in the calendar-app, in which all events trigger alarms at the time
of the event even though no reminder was set in Google (haven't tried
with local calendar). This means that you have no control over the
alarms and
