There *is* phonetic keyboard available on Linux for Kannada. You
will have to install it, though. Instructions for that is available

If you want Nudi keymap with the same old fonts, you're in luck.

Those of you using Ubuntu on machines with Intel Pentium Dual Core
processor, please share your experiences here.
The x86 version of Ubuntu seems to have *some* problem with Dual
Core. The CPU easily jumps up to its 100% usage. I've observed that Dual
core with Ubuntu x86 version
Moto has a fancy application for its cell phones on Windoze. But Ubuntu
has its share of tools, too. Here's how for the RAZR. :)

Has anyone observed? On the Ubuntu installer, the language option and
the Indic language interface (Press F2 while installing) throws up
malformed (badly rendered) characters.
