Window borders are missing on VMs in Unity

I'm running a Windows 7 VM in Virtualbox. When the VM windows is un-
maximized, there are no window borders on the VM window. Therefore
manipulation of the window (e.g. resizing, moving) is impossible. I will
attach a screenshot to illustrate the problem.

The screenshot shows the VM window with the borders missing. As you can
see it's impossible to resize or move the window, and difficult to
select outside it.

This bug is fixed in the latest version of Oneiric beta. I am not sure which
update caused the fix.
1. The dialog does not show up when the router is down.
2. Network Manager automatically connects once the router is up again.

its own.
By the way this was not the behaviour when I filed the bug. At that time it
would not reconnect after a Cancel, and trying to select the network and
connecting again would not work. So the situation has improved

I can confirm now that this has nothing to do with the gnome settings. I
rebooted into recovery, then rebooted normally without changing
anything; and everything worked fine. Any idea where I should look now
to try to isolate the cause?

Yes. I am able to reproduce this every time.
If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug?
I suppose it would be helpful if you have a laptop and an external display.

To add to that, the problem is not just when you use the keybinding.
Even clicking on the menu button causes the crash. If it helps, the only
change I've made to the default install is to enable compositing.
