Im having a similar problem, i cant remember if it happens after reboot
since I havent rebooted my work machine for a long long time, but almost
every morning or any other longer time of inactivity, i have to change
the keyboard layout settings since it doesnt want to switch to option

I'm experiencing the same problem on my laptop. However, after
suspending the computer and resuming just afterwards, the vertical

/usr/share/themes/Darklooks/gtk-2.0/ where it says that the tooltips
should be yellow..
what you should change is on the fourth line;
