Perhaps it is a kernel problem, but I should note that I've as of now used the old driver version (2.2.0+git20080107-1ubuntu2) during at least 10 suspend/resume cycles with no issues whatsoever. The kernel during the change of driver has not been changed. Thought I should mention that. Thanks.
