I tried to repro this bug in 32-bit 9.04 (rhythmbox 0.12.0-0ubuntu4).
Unfortunately, RB wouldn't freeze. /However/, I get different behavior
that still seems to implicate cross-fading.
With cross-fading enabled:

1) Start RB.
2) Attempt to connect to the reporter's bad radio stream
I was unable to reproduce this behavior. I started RB, inserted an audio
CD, and was able to play and rip it without incident. Unlike your
report, though, I was using the default kernel (2.6.28-11-generic

It appears that the suspend request isn't even getting to the kernel. As
a first cut, I'm assigning this to the gnome-power-manager package.

Thierry, thanks for the reply. I'm not able to reproduce this behaviour
here. A first step would be to execute the following command in a
terminal session, and then to run firefox from that console: ulimit -c
unlimited. This will produce a core file if/when Firefox segfaults. A

Is the sftp connection active? That is, is a download active or is the
session just sitting there. If the session is idle, I would expect the
server side to close the connection due to inactivity. Does this happen
with all sftp sessions or at specific sites?

What is the output of dmesg after you plug-in, attach, or turn on the
external USB drive? Is it recognized if the system boots with the drive
on and attached? Is the USB port to which it is attached working? What
brand of USB drive is it?
