OK ... did some reboots now for testing. Problem showed up one time and
patched script reacted und wait seemed to fix things. That means
/dev/hda6 realy didn't exist when first test occured (realy strange).
Unfortunately message was resume: 66: log_begin_msg not found so I
have to submit a fixed
Please don't beat me - had to fix it again. :-/
$RESUME is not exported use $resume now for panic message.
(It should never come so far any way.)

But I could boot it again by simply using an older version of grub
_without_ any change to the disks. Additionaly my root is entierly above
cyl. 1023 as you can see here:

With flashplugin-nonfree 9 (edgy-backports) there is no problem.
Occures every time when only libflash-mozplugin is installed.
If both are installed there seems to be no problem too.
It used to happen when libflash-mozplugin and flashplugin-nonfree 7
(multiverse) where installed, but

*not* flashplugin-nonfree.
What I did to reproduce:
sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree/edgy-backports
Result: firefox worked without problem three times

The problem is: tar -tzv shows no seconds any more:

It unmounts all partitions which are not in use, even those
mounted from /etc/fstab.

I can confirm this on up to date edgy at least if i start OO under KDE
even with running gnome-settings-daemon.
In addition to this fonts in OO look very ugly, like dpi is detected wrong.
I use 96 dpi setting in xorg.conf, kde and gnome and mostly Arial.
It works nice everywere except in OO.

I created a now user account and logged into gnome.
OO fonts looked normal.
I changed font settings in gnome and OO.
Worked all normal.
Than I logged into kde with the same new user.
OO fonts looked bad.
Than I logged again into gnome.
OO fonts looked normal.
Than in kde again I changed font
Installed OpenOffice 2.1.0-6 from their DEBs.
Now it looks perfect :)
(but ubuntu-desktop and language-support meta-packages are gone now)

Hi,
I installed edgy on a logical partition (hda7) on an old PIII with one single
80 GB Harddisk
a few days ago.
On the same partition I had some other Ubuntu or Debian before Dapper without
any problems.
(I use two alternately to install)
Today
OK - after I used a custom kernel without busybox for some time, now I tried
ubuntu 2.6.15-27.50 for some days.
Unfortunately the problem appeared again:

cupsaddsmb is mean to install a PostScript driver (the Adobe/Microsoft
one, with or without a CUPS-specific extension). It explicitely supports
Windows 2000 or higher (optionally with the CUPS extension), or Windows
95/98/ME (no CUPS extension available).

I have found a solution for this bug:
users-admin does not completely delay the entries of the user from
/etc/passwd and /etc/groups. When you delay manually these entries, you
can add newly an prevously delayed user.
