We've bypassed the search problem in Launchpad by using a LibreOffice
spreadsheet.
Here's what we've done for the DDTP (Universe). It's enabled by a recent
bugfix in Launchpad Po export. You can basically sort, search the DDTP in
the spreadsheet and find similar strings.

technical mojo to help us support translators all across the world at scale.
For instance, we need right now people to write an export script to share
back our translations with Debian on the Package Descriptions. We
translations done by a human.
Also, stretch goal would be to add strings that are similar in Raring
(Transitional Packages and such) as suggestions.
This would be for all languages, and not just French and Dutch.

languages and fill them up with Bogus Content that would be translated using
Launchpad.
Then when needed, the script would start the virtual machine, start the
applications needed using the terminal and fake keystrokes,

very good weeks, a typical translation team translates 500 strings (see UWN
