I'm wondering if this is actually a GTK issue... it definitely relates
to other widgets causing a canvas offset. In Inkscape when you enable or
disable toolbars, rulers, or the toolbox it offsets the coords on-canvas

Hernando,
The Inkscape issue you see there is actually an unrelated inkscape bug.
Adjust the width slider to see if it fixes the problem for you. If it
does not, try deleting your inkscape preferences file. The problem has
since been fixed in Inkscape SVN, so it will not be in 0.47.

I also can confirm that this issue does NOT exist any longer in SVN. A
lot of work has gone into PDF import/export and this issue has been
resolved in trunk and will be available in 0.47 (or a current nightly
build if you'd be inclined to help with testing). If you can still

From my understanding, getting the whiteboard working again (and it
being properly fixed) is quite an undertaking still. I definitely agree
that it needs to be disabled in all distros until it actually works. I
will make sure this is noted for 0.47.

Any idea if this has been filed against the cairo package in hardy? If
it's not a small fix that they're apt to take care of, we should see
what (if anything) can be done on our end.

Have you tried moving that local.conf from that location and running

Would you be willing to create one of these files get it to mis-render,
