I solved this problem by adding irqpoll anywhere in to grub boot command line and since this 'bug' seem to appear in any newer distribution, it can hardly be a Ubuntuspecific bug. Shouldn't it be deleted? -- Inserting USB device causes system to hang https://launchpad.net/bugs/68140 --

Public bug reported: If I insert any USB device into my laptop, the systems hangs instantly and then I'm forced to reset the computer. If a deviced, like a mouse, is plugged before startup the cursor lags quite a bit. Doing a lsusb shows that all devices have been detected OK. I have tried

I get no odd messages from dmesg that could be linked to the USB problem. Currently I run PCLinuxOS .93, which is based on kernel 2.6.16, that is one minor release more recent than the kernel of Dapper, and here everything works great. -- Inserting USB device causes system to hang
