The volume = ignore workaround does not work for me. Same behavior with
the internal speakers. The headphones always work fine either case when
plugged in, volume goes up and down as normal. Also, the speakers do not
unmute when I change the headphone volume, which is actually a fix from
Karmic.
It no longer crashes, before or after I installed the session package.
Oddly it had done so reliably even through reboots until I reinstalled
it. I must have corrupted a config file on a hard reboot. I will do some
testing and comment back if it is still crashing. Thank you for your

Now adjusting the volume on my headphones unmutes the normal speakers.

When I deleted my custom entry of the Netbook Launcher (I did not reset
configuration). The netbook launcher did not start on login, and I was
able to start it by clicking the Go-Home-Applet. On the second click, it
proceeded to kill X.

[Update] The behavior on a recent update causes the brightness function
keys to stop working. The brightness no longer goes down, however the
indicator applet for the brightness shows up every 10 seconds for each
key press. It shows the bar lowering but the screen does not dim or
brighten.

The tweak to change the mixer to use solely alsa PCM fixes the issue I
describe, however it adds another. When I manually change the volume it
stutters badly. Sometimes it will randomly garble for a split second.
The other tweak to add dB=1 has no effect.

This happens to me using Lucid on an Intel 4500m. The screen flickers
and briefly displays lines at rare but random times. Generally only
occurs on the bottom left or the entire right side. It might be a
Compositing related issue, I will try running sans Compiz and confirm.

This bug effects me on Lucid AMD64. It is reproducible; Any time I play
any song Rhythmbox shows up using 50% in top. I have two cores, AMD
Athlon 64 x2 3800+. I have tested both OGG and FLAC audio, and it
