To be more precise, OpenGL works in hardware mode for compiz (so window effects work at full speed ) but in software mode for any aplication or game like Nexuiz or GoogleEarth. Now tested on Jaunty-alpha2 livecd as well, it behaves exactly same, games and apps run in OpenGL software mode,
