The Alternate installation CD can also boot with memmap=128K$0x2000 however the system will not boot from sda after putting this /etc/default/grub GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=memmap=128K\$0x2000 and running update-grub. Only boots if I use GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=memory_corruption_check_size=128K **

I activated the serial console while leaving the KVM switch emulator running side-by-side. The video resolution on the KVM switch emulator display changed when Begin: Running /scripts/local-bottom ... Done. Done. Begin: Running /scripts/init-bottom ... Done. was displayed on the serial console.
