I had the same problem. John Franklin's suggestion to rename
~/.gconf/system to ~/.gconf/system.bak fixed. (Thanks!) I had to
reenter my wireless settings though...

I can confirm this bug in with DOSBox and Planet Penguin Racer, both of

I also think this is a good idea. I often use transfer files between
Linux and Windows. I switched to Kate (KDE's text editor) because it
handles other newlines.
