RE: how to run as ume user in Xephyr?

2008-01-17 Thread Levinson, Aaron N
I requested this change some time ago, and I think the reason that John was against it was that the ume user is not guaranteed to exist when Image Creator is used for other versions of Linux. This could be an option--the user could select the default user for a particular project or target. Aa

A good starting point might be the Hildon UI Style Guide, available at http://test.maemo.org/community/hildon_ui.html . I'm not sure why this document is no longer available from www.maemo.org, but it provides various guidelines on how a Hildonized GUI application should behave. Aaron Levinson >

Internal compiler errors when building on Crownbeach

2007-10-02 Thread Levinson, Aaron N
I tried to build the kernel on the Crownbeach system, but the same lpia gcc compiler that works fine to build the kernel on my desktop development system hits internal compiler errors on the Crownbeach. The internal compiler errors aren't consistent as well, and it may get past one file just fine

Missing dependency when installing fsets on menlow-lpia target

2007-09-27 Thread Levinson, Aaron N
I got the latest image-creator from Git and created a new menlow-lpia project and then a target. However, when I went to add fsets to the target, it complained about a missing dependency for mobile-basic-flash, which is installed by the ubuntu-mobile fset. mobile-basic-flash depends on libxul0d,

Based on how people are using the Nokia Internet tablets, many of them let the device go to sleep rather than shutting it down. It takes some time to power-up and reboot the device, so for many users, it is preferable to let the device go to sleep, even if it is a light sleep that is drawing from

Run-time keyboard issue encountered while porting maemo VNC viewer to MIDs

2007-09-18 Thread Levinson, Aaron N
I've been working on porting the maemo VNC viewer application (at https://garage.maemo.org/projects/vncviewer/ ) for use on MIDs, and I've run up against a run-time issue with the keyboard auto-repeat capability in the X server, and I was hoping that someone on this list might be able to further di
