- When running Walrus/S3 services of a different machine than the Cloud
controller (CLC), we are missing some jar files. We seems to assume
I think this is due to the installer using the kernel framebuffer, which
adds overhead and makes VMs seem slower.
Try booting a server ISO, and at the cd boot menu, hit F6, then ESC, and
add fb=false to the end of the kernel boot line.
This makes the menus far snappier for me.

I actually believe this bug to be fixed in Lucid's qemu-kvm 0.12.3.
Similar to your original report, I fired up a VM with usb attached to my
Palm Pre phone, which can act as a USB dongle. I was able to
successfully connect to the internet in the VM with:
$ sudo kvm -m 512 -hda
I can't reproduce this either, running an Ubuntu guest.
I however don't have any Windows guests.
Could someone with a Windows guest please confirm if this bug still
exists in Lucid?

Search this file for 10.1.1.71 (the address of the CLC) and you'll see
that eucalyptus/cloud-address is set to 10.1.1.71:8773, at least for a

I've helped each of you guys either manually fix this bug, or upgrade to
the PPA packages where I fixed it in the packaging.
The fix is currently awaiting verification. It would be great if
someone could install the -proposed package and add a comment confirming
that
Okay, I rolled a package with Thierry's fix. I bundled and uploaded
today's Lucid's image, ran that Instance, and I was able to successfully
ssh into it.
Note, I did file a couple of new bugs, notably that I had to manually register
the image, rather than using uec-publish*

Thanks for the comment. I agree that such a script should undergo a
*thorough* review before being accepted into our openssh-server package.
I also see your point, that ssh-copy-id is doing it's work over ssh
itself.
In the default configuration, ssh-import-id works against
