As the original report indicated, debain/postinst attempts to install
the timezone data, it just does so incorrectly. Specifically, the
mysql_tzinfo_to_sql /usr/share/zoneinfo/ 21 command needs to have
the name of the database to be updated (mysql), as in
mysql_tzinfo_to_sql /usr/share/zoneinfo/

I've had a MythTV box setup for a while (over a year) and have been just
doing the occasional (every month or two) updates. Did updates about a
week ago and saw the same blank page as described above when going to
the mythweb url.
I did what Tom Metro suggested and it worked fine. (with the
