Thanks for reporting this bug. The lxc installation and upgrades failed
because of the lxc-net upstart job not starting. I notice you are
running a custom kernel, perhaps with selinux enabled, which may or may not
be affecting this.
Could you please try manually doing
ifconfig -a
route -n
failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script
returned error exit status 1
add bridge failed: Package not installed

that your custom kernel actually does not support bridges.

I can't reproduce this on quantal (or raring), using variations of 'kvm
-serial mon:pty -hda x.img -cdrom precise-mini-amd64.iso'. I also note

As has been discussed upstream, adding a generic custom conf file hides
useful information when debugging. The dnsmasq features which need to
be tweaked should be explicitly supported in new xml bits. Marking this
wontfix here, but hoping that the features will show up upstream soon.
