Hi, everyone.
I upgraded to 20.04 and updated Wine - that solved pretty much all of my
issues. Unfortunately, the last round of updates that just came out seem to
have wreaked havoc with audio playback and Ubuntu Studio Console has gone
missing (and I could not reinstall it).
Details on that

TLDR: The inability to run a wide spectrum of music software on Linux is
getting worse to the point many will throw in the towel.
I know this is an old saw and may be the wrong forum to even mention it,
but here goes. I am a keyboard player and I like virtual instruments (VST
plugins). As nice
Hi,
The suggested changes sound justified and sensible.

Hi, everyone. Just a note to say I saw the discussion. I haven't looked
at version 19.04 - any and all helpful updates to the Audio Manual are
encouraged! I finally got around to trying out LinVST and that was a huge
disappointment, first because it's a very messy install that stumped me,
and
I've been an Ubuntu Studio user for a long time and had no clue things were
so dire, although I was aware of the burnout problem in OS projects in
general. It sounds like a new - development path? - would be worth
considering even if all roles were filled. I'm so new to all of this I
don't even
Did everyone hear about Synth One for iPad (not to be confused with Synth1

The rationale for this is...interesting. Many people have tablets but can't
afford to purchase any apps. Even if we accept that slightly iffy

I replaced several files, notably the PDF version and the Appendix which
was missing the trooubleshooting table. Edits to chapters 3 and 10 (and I
think one other minor edit to another chapter).
I guess I won't be posting this to GitHub! LOL

Hi,
If someone wants to get creative, the Ubuntu Studio Audio Handbook might
need cover art. Also, I've had three or four working titles:
Home Recording with Ubuntu Studio
Ubuntu Studio for Musicians - Essential Guide
Ubuntu Studio Audio Handbook (current working title)
What's best? Any
For the record, I almost did not include anything about installing Ubuntu
in the handbook for the reasons Erich gives. My first solution would be to
remove the whole section and just point elsewhere for installation.
I have not run into those problems installing because I've not tried it

Hi,
I wrote a handbook called "Ubuntu Studio For Musicians" that covers most of
the out-of-the-box programs, recording, mastering, making a CD, the basics
of sound synthesis, and revkiews of some free VST instruments (see TOC
below).I would like to put this guide in the public domain, and
