Ok, something I did in here is wrong. dmesg gives this (well lots more too):
Kernel command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vm
CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash threadirqs"
then:
grub-install /dev/sdb
-> reboot
-># sudo /etc/init.d/rtirq status
PID CLS RTPRIO NI PRI %CPU STAT COMMAND
3 TS - 0 19 0.1 Sksoftirqd/0
9 TS - 0 19 0.0 Sksoftirqd/1
Same thing as before...
:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/rtirq status
sudo /etc/init.d/rtirq status
[sudo] password for len:
PID CLS RTPRIO NI PRI %CPU STAT COMMAND
3 TS - 0 19 0.0 Sksoftirqd/0
9 TS - 0 19 0.0 Sksoftirqd/1
Huh? what did I do wrong?

What driver do you use for the ATI graphics? Does it use/share main RAM
for framebuffer? I still suspect your post is about the graphics ;)?!
