Darktable is also a great app for professional photography. It's already
packaged and available in Ubuntu repositories.
It could form a separate Photo seed if combined with CinePaint (which is
not packaged for Debian AFAIK).

Audacitie's cooperation with with jack is disgraceful. But indeed, for
it's capabilities I see no comparable linux alternative.

hey Scott, what audio editor is used in place of audacity?
afaik, audacity is full featured and works nice (my favorite [linux] audio
editor).
I know some people that use it on Windows, so they already how it works.
I think the question should be - why isn't audacity included?
