I´ve been using Ubuntu since Dapper (and have also used Kubuntu,
Fluxbuntu, Nubuntu...) and have been using Ubuntu Studio now since it

As a rule of thumb, for those cheap onboard things, if there is a "mic in" and
a "line in", the line in is stereo and the mic in has a "preamp" and is mono.
If there is only one input...maybe its mono.
To check out for sure, if ubuntu spots your card, check the alsamixer in the

This will more probably be because the kernel in Ubuntu Studio isn't
the same for Ubuntu. That's why the solutions in the Ubuntu Forums
won't always work, specially if they are kernel related like wifi

done differently in some ca

implementation, but I think is a good feature to have

What bothers me about Ubuntu Studio is, sometimes things working for the
same version of Ubuntu may not work in Studio. For example problems I'm
having with wireless and sound. The solutions mentioned at Ubuntu Forums
seems to work for Ubuntu, but when it comes to Studio I got stuck after some

like to have easier access to it.
But let me show you mine, we make a free software distro because we
