You may want to take a look at www.linuxtv.org. I bought a Pinnacle PCTV
PCI card it has been a trial, although I have been able to get it to work.
You may want to check the hardware list before you buy.

I don't see enough of the error. From a console, type:
sudo aptitude dist-upgrade
You should be able to paste more of the error.

Just a few things.
* It's not quite the same in that your current user will not get all
the settings we set. (new users will)
* There looks to be a upgrade issue. (S
Just like the U Studio meta packages, the realtime (rt) kernel is
available to all Ubuntu users. You can install/un-install it anytime
with apt (synaptic).

Yeah, and if I could afford that, I could probably get a 2gib flash drive
too... :-(
I'll try to get a portable console 7zip and maybe try it too. And maybe I'll
just stop waiting for XP SP3, it's way too late...
Thanks!

Hi there,
I'm thinking about transferring some old stuff from VHS to .avi or DVD
via my Ubuntu Studio setup. I think probably the easiest way would be
to replace the graphics card in my Dell Dimension 8400 with something
coming with a video input. Doesn't have to be ultra mega gamer-stuff
either,
Hello:
Compiz was responsible for all that. My Ubuntu Studio 8.04 comes from a
clean installation from disk, but I see that Blender + Compiz = bad mix.
Thanks a lot!

But what about the realtime kernel etc? I am still a relative newbie when it
comes to all of this, but I thought that one of the things that really sets
studio apart is the realtime kernel. If you were using the standard version
of ubuntu, and simply installed all of the studio packages, wouldn't y

Went from Ubuntu Studio 7.10 amd64 (rt-kernel) to Ubuntu 8.04 amd64 using
the DVD from the ubuntu studio page. So I pop in the dvd and hit the update
button and it downloads and installs/removes a buttload of programs
