so I finally got time again to spend time to try to record some stuff
with Ubuntu-Studio. But I am still facing problems. I want to give all
of you enough infortmations in order to be able to solve my problem.
My goal is quite simple: I just want to record things from my Bass

I have installed Ardour and a program called Jack Controll.
But I have no idea how to make things work!
"Failed to find a Jack Audio Server" is there to read as soon as I
start Jack and then i recording program.
What more do I need to get started?
Any svenskar or norrmen here in the list?

Just an aside note: shouldn't you use a DI box to connect your bass to
the M-Audio?
I used a behringher Tube Ultragain MIC200 low cost DI box (now I jump in
my M-Audio 1010 through a line6 X3 Pro). Otherwise your signal could be
really low.

So I did some more troubleshooting and I seems that it's probably the ricoh
port messing things up... so I thought that buing something like this;

Well, I used the Yamaha John Myung signature 6 string which is active.
And I got a real good Output without any DI. I just plugged it into
the Break-Out-Box and it worked perfectly for me.
